Formiary is a backend for your forms. You keep the HTML form you already built and point its `action` at a Formiary endpoint instead of your own server. From there we validate each submission, filter spam, store it, notify you, and fire any integrations you've set up.

Do I need a backend or server of my own?

No. Submissions POST straight to your Formiary endpoint as `multipart/form-data`, which is how a browser submits a plain HTML form anyway. You don't need server code, an iframe, or a JavaScript SDK.

Can I use Formiary with any framework or plain HTML?

Yes. It's an HTTP endpoint that accepts standard form submissions, so it works with a plain ` ` tag, a `fetch` call, or any front-end framework you like.

How does spam protection work?

Every form can use honeypot fields, link detection, and rate limiting. You configure each rule yourself rather than relying on a score you can't inspect, and you decide whether a flagged submission is rejected outright or held for review.

What happens to my data?

Each submission is checked against the fields and rules you defined, then stored and shown in your dashboard alongside that form's analytics. Nothing expires with age. Your submissions stay until you delete them, however old they get, and on a paid plan that holds no matter how many you receive.

Can I get notified or send auto-responses?

Yes. Any plan can email your team when a submission arrives. Paid plans can also reply to whoever filled the form, sending from a domain you've verified so it arrives from your address rather than ours.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan covers 1,000 submissions a month and includes validation, spam protection, notifications, analytics, and permanent storage. No credit card required. The [pricing page](/pricing) has the full breakdown.

What if I go over my submission limit?

That depends on the plan. Paid plans have no ceiling. Extra submissions are billed automatically at a per-1,000 rate that falls as the count goes up, and nothing is ever dropped. The free plan's 1,000 a month is a real cap rather than a soft target. Past it, submissions stop triggering notification emails and integrations, and once you're well past it we stop keeping them. If you're regularly near 1,000, upgrade before you get there.
